EPDM Flat Roof Replacement in Nuneaton

The Brief

The flat roof on an extension in Nuneaton had been patched more than once and was still letting water in. The old felt covering had cracked and blistered with age, and the homeowner was tired of finding damp on the ceiling below every time it rained hard. They wanted a proper, long-term fix rather than another short-lived repair, so we recommended a full replacement in EPDM rubber.

What We Did

Our work included:

• Stripped the old covering: Removed the failed felt and cleared it from site.
• Checked the deck: Inspected the timber deck underneath and replaced the sections that had softened from years of water ingress.
• Sorted the falls: Set the falls so rainwater runs cleanly off to the outlet instead of pooling, which is what kills a flat roof early.
• Laid the EPDM rubber: Fitted the rubber as a single seamless sheet, so there are very few joins to fail.
• Dressed the edges and upstands: Trimmed and bonded the edges and upstands neatly for a watertight, tidy finish.
• Tested and cleaned up: Checked the roof was watertight and left the site clear.

The Result

A clean, seamless rubber roof that drains properly and is backed by a 20-year guarantee on the membrane. No more pooling, no more patching, and no more damp on the ceiling below. The homeowner has a flat roof they can forget about for the next couple of decades.
